RIPE Database notes

RIPE Database - contains registration information for networks in the the RIPE NCC service region and related contact details.

Records in the RIPE Database are called "objects".
Each object is a list of "attribute-value" pairs displayed in plain text.

RIPE DB Objects
Objects can store information about different resources.

Object types         Network Resource
inetnum, inet6num    IP Address Ranges
aut-num              AS number
route, route6        address range announced by an AS number
domain               Reverse DNS Delegations
person               Contact Information
role, organisation   group of persons
mntner               protects other objects

Objects are procted by mntner (maintainer aka password)

[optional]     Attribute is optional in the objects of the class and can be omitted.
[generated]    Attribute is automatically generated by the server.
[single]       An object MUST NOT contain more than one instance of this attribute.
[multiple]     An object MAY contain more than one instance of this attribute.
[look-up key]  Attribute is indexed.
[inverse key]  Attribute is in the "reverse" index.
[primary key]  Attribute is (part of) the primary key.
[primary/look-up key] Attribute is both indexed and is (part of) the primary key.
